If your NFC card is lost, immediately report it to the school administration. An administrator can deactivate the lost card from the system to prevent unauthorized use. A new NFC card can then be assigned to your student account. Any remaining balance in the wallet will be preserved and transferred to the new card.
Food City is a mobile app for parents and guardians to buy school-canteen meal plans for their children, track their meals, top up a wallet, and manage a canteen meal card. All prices are in Bahraini Dinars (BHD).
To report feedback or complaints, navigate to the Help or Support section from the main menu. Look for 'Submit Feedback' or 'Report Issue' option. Fill in the form with details about your concern, including the category (technical issue, service complaint, suggestion, etc.), description, and any relevant screenshots. You can also specify the priority level. Once submitted, you will receive a ticket number for tracking. The support team will review and respond to your feedback within the specified timeframe. Alternatively, you can contact the school administration directly via the provided contact information.
Parents can access their student's lunch history through the parent portal. They need to log in using their credentials provided by the school. Once logged in, they can navigate to the 'Lunch History' or 'Transaction History' section to view all meals purchased by their child, including dates, items ordered, prices, and payment methods used. The history can typically be filtered by date range and exported for personal records. Some systems also provide nutritional summaries.
Sign in with a one-time password (OTP). You can log in with your mobile number (OTP via WhatsApp), with your child's Scholar ID (after selecting the school), or with your email. Enter the 4-digit code to continue.
Tap "Register a new student", choose the school, then fill in the details (full name, email, Scholar ID, mobile, gender, date of birth, class and division). If the school's online registration is closed, we take your details and the canteen team follows up with you.
Yes. Use "Add Student" to add another child, and switch between children from the Account tab ("Switch Account"). Each child has their own plan, wallet and meal card.
Plans are offered as tiers with durations of one week, one month, three months, six months or one year. A plan gives a meal on each working day (Sunday–Thursday, excluding weekends and holidays). At checkout you'll see the price, VAT, number of days and the start and end dates.
You can pay from your Wallet balance, or online via BenefitPay or Mastercard. Meal purchases default to the Wallet; if your balance is short, you can add money first.
Open Add Money, choose a quick amount (0.5, 5, 10 or 20 BHD) or enter your own, and pay via BenefitPay or Mastercard. The wallet is credited once the payment is confirmed. Minimum online payment is 1.000 BHD.
Yes. Prices shown at checkout include VAT (around 10%) where applicable. The breakdown shows the subtotal, VAT, any discount and the final total.
Use "Don't need food" / the skip calendar to skip that day (or select multiple days). By default you must do this at least 36 hours before the meal. The value of a skipped day is returned as meal Credit (less a small admin fee), not cash.
Skipping or pausing individual meals returns non-cash meal Credit, which is applied automatically to your next plan purchase. Cancelling a whole subscription returns the value of remaining days to your Wallet. Neither can be withdrawn as cash — both are used inside the app.
Yes. Meal Credit is valid for a period after the related subscription ends (by default 2 months) and is used oldest-first on eligible purchases. After it expires it can no longer be used.
If your plan allows cancellation, cancelling refunds the pro-rated value of the remaining working days to your Wallet (a plan cancellation charge may apply). Days already used are not refundable, and if the plan has ended there is no refund. For help, contact info@foodcitybahrain.com.
Yes. Upgrading charges only the prorated price difference from your Wallet; downgrading refunds the difference to your Wallet. Renewing reuses the purchase flow with your current tier pre-selected and extends your subscription.
Yes. In the Menu tab you can view meals week by week, switch a day's meal option, or swap an item for an alternative. Confirm your changes from the bar at the bottom. Swaps have a cutoff before the meal.
Each child gets a physical NFC card. At the canteen they tap the card to pay from their Wallet. You can view the card, its balance and transaction history in the Meal Card tab.
Yes. You can set a daily and a per-transaction spending limit, and freeze or unfreeze the card from the app. A frozen card cannot be used at the canteen until you unfreeze it.
Sibling/family discounts (for verified siblings) and any vouchers are applied by the system to eligible purchases and shown as line items on your receipt. Discounts are not exchangeable for cash.
Add allergies from the Account/profile screen. The app then shows allergen warnings on meals. These warnings are advisory only — for serious dietary or medical needs, confirm directly with the school or canteen.
Edit contact details from the Account tab. For security, changing your email or mobile is verified by a one-time password (OTP) sent to you.
Open Invoices from Settings/Account to view and download your invoices. Your plan details screen also shows a payment history and any cancellation refunds.
Online payments are verified and reconciled automatically. If money was taken but the plan/top-up wasn't applied, or you were charged twice, the amount is credited back to your Wallet. If something still looks wrong, contact info@foodcitybahrain.com with the date, amount and reference.
Yes. Change the language between English and Arabic from Settings. The app supports full right-to-left Arabic.
Use Feedback or Complaints from Settings/Account to send us your comments or raise an issue and track it. For anything urgent, email info@foodcitybahrain.com.
We collect only what's needed to run the service and protect it with industry-standard measures. Card details are entered on the payment gateway's secure page and we never store full card numbers. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
