Why water belongs in every school bag
Warm weather, active play and long school days can increase a child’s need for fluids. Regular access to water supports normal concentration, comfort and physical activity without adding sugar to the day.
Waiting until a child feels very thirsty is not the easiest strategy. A visible bottle and predictable drink breaks make hydration automatic rather than something students need to remember under pressure.
Build a simple water rhythm
Encourage a few sips with breakfast, on arrival at school, during the morning break, with lunch and after physical activity. The goal is a calm routine, not forcing a large amount at once.
Make water the easy choice
Choose a leak-resistant bottle the student likes and can refill. Keep it clean, label it clearly and place it beside the lunchbox each evening. Fruit-infused water can add variety without turning everyday hydration into a sweet drink habit.
Please remember: For diagnosed allergies, medical conditions or individual nutrition concerns, follow guidance from a qualified healthcare professional and your school's official care process.
